Amendment 3, on Florida's November 3, 2026 ballot, would greatly expand the homestead property tax exemption starting in 2027. Buyers who are Florida residents with a homesteaded home by December 31, 2026 would qualify right away. Everyone else would wait until their fifth year of exemption for the larger benefit. If Florida is part of your plan, 2026 could be the year to make the move.
